How do I become more confident with women?
Real confidence isn't a mindset trick — it's what happens when you stop needing women's approval to feel okay about yourself. You build it by: (1) building a life you're proud of, (2) doing tiny brave things daily, (3) reframing rejection as data instead of destruction, and (4) getting so comfortable with rejection that it stops running your life. Fake confidence lasts 10 minutes before women see through it. Real confidence is a skill you build.
Marni's answer
I'm Marni Kinrys, founder of The Wing Girl Method. This is the #1 question I get, and I'm gonna give you the answer nobody else will.
Most confidence advice is bullshit. Affirmations, mirror pep talks, 'just believe in yourself' — none of that works because none of it addresses what's actually broken.
Here's what does.
What confidence actually IS
Confidence isn't a feeling. It's not something you 'get' from a YouTube video. It's not fake-it-till-you-make-it.
Confidence is what happens when you stop needing external approval to feel okay about yourself. That's it. That's the whole thing.
And building that? Real work. Not affirmations. Not visualization. Actual daily action that makes you the kind of person who doesn't need her to like him.
The 4 foundations
1. Build a life. A man with a mission has different energy than a man with time to burn. Get in shape. Get better at your work. Build friendships. Create things.
2. Do tiny brave things daily. Say hi to a stranger. Speak up in a meeting. Order what you actually want. Send the risky text. Every micro-brave act builds the muscle.
3. Reframe rejection. Every 'no' from a woman is DATA — not destruction. She's not rejecting YOU. She's rejecting the version of you she saw in that moment.
4. Rack up rejections. Yes. Actively. Get rejected 50 times so it stops feeling scary. The men who are confident with women are the men who have been rejected the most — and stopped caring.
Ravi and the frozen approach
Ravi, 29, single, Austin. Engineer. Introvert. Would freeze around women he was attracted to. Not because he wasn't a good guy — because his body treated every attractive woman like a survival threat.
I told him — Ravi, you can't THINK your way out of this. Your nervous system doesn't respond to logic. You have to reprogram it with action.
Assignment: talk to one stranger a day for 30 days. Not to hit on them. Just to make talking to strangers feel NORMAL. Barista. Dog walker. Person in line. One a day. No pressure. No agenda.
By day 20 Ravi was approaching women he was attracted to. Not smoothly. Not perfectly. But he was DOING IT. Because his nervous system had learned strangers weren't dangerous anymore.
That's how it works. Not affirmations. Reps.
Common mistakes men make
- Trying to fake confidence with body language tricks alone
- Making one woman your whole world
- Avoiding rejection by never trying
- Comparing yourself to other men obsessively
- Waiting until you 'feel' confident before you take action
What to do instead
- Build a life that's not about women. A mission, a hobby, a purpose.
- One brave action daily — approach one stranger, speak up once, send one text.
- Get rejected on purpose. Rack up 20-50 no's. Watch what happens.
- Get physically strong. Feeling good in your body compounds everything.
- Spend time with confident men. Confidence is contagious.
Marni's take
You can fake confidence for about 10 minutes. After that, women can smell the difference. Real confidence is EARNED. You earn it by doing hard things. Getting rejected and not dying. Approaching when it's scary. Building a life you're proud of. The good news? The exact work that builds real confidence with women makes your entire life better. Do the work. The women part takes care of itself.
Key takeaways
- Real confidence isn't a mindset — it's a skill built by action.
- Build a life first. Your mission is the foundation.
- Every rejection is data. Rack them up until they stop scaring you.
- One brave action daily. That's the whole formula.
