Women can smell insecurity on a man from a mile away. It shows up in some unexpected ways, too. Learn what NOT to do so you don't push her away for good…
Ok, so last weekend I was at a baby shower with a bunch of girlfriends. (Don’t worry, I won’t bore you with the details of what happens at one of these things.)
As the night was winding down, most of us agreed to head out to a cocktail bar and have a few drinks.
But when we asked Megan if she was coming, this was her response:
“Oh I’d love to go, but I know that my boyfriend won’t let me.”
Believe me, there were more than a few shocked glances thrown around between the rest of us.
When we asked her why, she explained that he didn’t like her going out without him to places where there’d be other guys. So the baby shower was fine since it was just women, but anything else and he’d get pissed.
And while a couple of women there half-heartedly tried to change her mind, the truth is we didn’t push it. Because most of us have been in a similar situation and completely understand what it’s like to have a controlling boyfriend.
Here’s the thing when we date a guy like this:
At first, we might rationalize it by thinking that he’s doing this because he cares about us so much. That he sees how desirable we are and he doesn’t want other men trying to hit on us.
But that eventually wears off, and we see it for what it really is: insecurity.
Deep down, guys like that are afraid that they’re not good enough and that we’ll find someone better. So they try to control everything so there are no circumstances in which we could meet another man.
And while insecurity manifests as controlling behavior in a relationship, it also shows up in other ways. Even before we’re dating.
For example, if we meet a guy in a social environment like a bar or at a party. Maybe we have a conversation and we even find him attractive. But what’ll typically happen is he tries to take ownership of us from that point on.
Meaning if another guy tries to talk to us, he’ll start acting jealous and weird.
And this is usually even worse if the guy has studied any pickup artist material. Because then he might try and do what’s known as “AMOGGING” the other guy. Or in plain English, try and make himself appear more alpha and therefore more attractive.
But I’ve seen this go horribly wrong more times than I can count. I’ve had tons of students who had weird ideas and tactics they’d picked up from male dating coaches. And all that stuff did was make them seem socially awkward and insecure.
So if this is something you’re doing with women — whether you’re single or in a relationship — you need to stamp it out.
I’m not saying you have to be 100% confident 24/7 and can never have any self doubt. We all have things that can make us feel insecure at times.
But if you let that dictate your actions and behavior, it’s a recipe for disaster.
If single, you’ll send a huge warning to women who have learned to recognize that behavior for what it is.
And if you’re in a relationship, it’ll chip away at the heart of what’s really important — respect and trust.
So even though it’s useful to learn techniques on what to do and say with women, that’s just one piece of the puzzle.
You also need to build a strong foundation of believing in your worth as a sexually attractive man. Because when you haven’t got that, you’ll always be worrying that some other guy is going to steal your woman.
That’s why in my best-selling program, How To Become A Man Women Want, I give you both.
